Anyone have simple and clear directions on how to connect my roam as an extension of my beam.

You can group the Roam with the Beam by following the instructions in this article:

NOTE: You will experience a slight audio delay from the Roam when it is grouped with the Beam while playing TV audio. Streaming music will be in sync.

To be specific, the Roam, or even a pair of Roams, can not be used as surround speakers.
