Hi
It seems I have to reply to this. Um...
Are Dolby audio engineers compensating for something?
Frankly, I’m pretty sure that’s only for the ‘compressed’ version of Atmos, and not the version which has 128 tracks…
Imagine attempting to take a 128 channel version of the plug through an airport checkpoint. Or, a 128 track analog tape deck.
I’m thinking of the horrors of the 128 channel RCA version’s color coding…
We are talking something like resistor color bands here with 128 channels.
Oh, don’t forget your minimum device depth will be 32 inches to allow the plug to be fully inserted. Put it on the end of the Arc and you’d be good, Beam is likely too short.
I’ll admit that this thread has given me a lot of smiles as I considered actual physical implementation of such an analog plug. Plus the thought of carrying a cable around in my pocket, and then inserting it into the jack, and making sure it was properly seated.
Thank you,
Indeed; and the list of the likers is also the usual suspects in one place
