I understand and see it very clearly stated in the documents (of course after I just saved a bunch of money to buy this thing).
Note that the subwoofer output is disabled when Amp is being used to power surround speakers for a Sonos home theater product.
I bought this specifically to add 2 speakers and a sub to finish my home theater setup. So why can’t we do this? Is my only option to buy a Sonos sub to complete this? This is a real bummer.

It is due to the nature of the connection of the Amp to the ‘front/primary’ device. The only signal that is carried to the surrounds is in fact the Surround data, it does not include any subwoofer data. It has always been this way.
