tv must be set to auto for stereo pcm

Hi,

I have a lg up7000upa with an arc,sub and era 300s. When I set my tv settings up I have to set the hdmi output to Auto. This disables the ability to select 5.1 or 7.1 uncompressed on Xbox series x. If I set it to passthrough as I have read you are supposed to for Atmos and other audio types.  If I play stereo pcm content on appletv the arc is distorted and the sound crackles. Has anyone else ran into this or knows a way to fix it?

Try unplugging the Apple TV and Arc from power for a couple of minutes.

 

And make sure the TV is set to these settings:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through

eARC Support: On

 

On the Apple TV, set the Change Format audio setting to OFF.

Just tried it. Same issue when in passthrough. I’m thinking it might just be the tv. Any thoughts?
