I have just connected my new Beam to my Samsung TV which also has a Sky Q mini box (the multi room option) and an Amazon tv thingy (forgotten the name for it sorry)
how do I default to just using my Samsung TV sound and not the beam?
do I just turn the beam off ? And if so how ?
You switch off HDMI-CEC on the Samsung or take the Beam off the power.
Why would would you want this though? You’ve bought the Beam to get better sound and want to revert to speakers that are less in quality? Why?

sometimes i just want the tv sound on but i take your point
am i allowed to ask subsequent questions on this re linking my Play 1 speakers to the Beam to get surround or should i start a new question
