Why can I adjust the sound lag in the wrong direction but CANNOT improve it on tv surround setup?

Between the Sonos adjustment and the Samsung OLED, I can only make the problem worse.

I waited years to pull the trigger on this setup and (in my wife's words...) "ITS UNWATCHABLE"

The Sonos lag can only be increased.  It’s not possible for the Sonos App to play audio before it receives it.

You don’t have a soundbar mentioned in your profile, can you confirm what Home Theatre Sonos device you have connected to your TV?

My surround setup is:

Arc Gen1

Sub Gen3

ERA 300 Gen1 (pair)

I have set TV dialog sync to 0, group audio delay to (min) 75ms, and on the TV (Samsung OLED) I have done the same.

The delay is substantially more than 75ms

I have the same Sonos setup, but with an LG TV, and Sonos App settings and don’t get any audio lag.  Are you using an external source to the TV?

Yes, TV source is Xfinity.

Also, I miss spoke.  The TV IS the LG OLED

I just tested it on wifi with Netflix and it is a noticeable improvement.  So, the issue is with live TV on wired cable feed.

It's so odd

A quick search suggests that you turn off Secondary Audio Programming (SAP), please see:

Sorry, if this is something that you have already looked at.
