Why do I have to listen to Sonos telling me that I have just put the volume up or down when the system is connected via my arc hdmi port on my tv.  It blocks out sound and if I adjust sound vis controller three times I feel like throwing the system out of the window as all I hear is 

Sonos volume up hdmi repeated for each time I hit the volume up button.  I then loose the sound track I was attempting to listen too.  
why ??? Can I turn this annoying sound/ function off?

It sounds like you have the “voice guide” setting enabled on your TV. Disable this setting.

Dear guitar superstar I will look for this setting and if I find it and disable it you will forever have my wife’s appreciation.
