I get the beam all hooked up my Sony TV and it works until I play music via the beam, then it gets stuck on music and wont switch to TV without unhooking everything and starting over

That seems unusual. How do you have this Beam connected to your TV? What’s the source of the music you’re streaming? What device is your controller on, and what OS is it running? Specifically, what do you mean by ‘starting over’? Are we talking a full factory reset and then setting everything back up, or something else? Do you have ‘autoplay’ under Home Theater set up for in the room settings for the Beam?

Have you tried switching the audio to TV using the Sonos App, or do your attempts always fail when you try to do that using the ‘TV icon’ at the foot of the music services tab?
There are other ways to switch to TV audio, but it’s not clear from your post what you’ve tried so far🤔?

beam is connected to ARC on the TV via cable. Controller is on Samsung phone. Starting over means I have to select connect to TV, unplug my satellite and firestick then it will reconnect. In the app I have no options to change the source it is stuck on the music. I was using tune in radio . there is no option in the sonos app to change it to TV unless I reset it. as soon as I play music again it gets stuck and can not switch to TV. and yes it is on autoplay

If your Beam is connected to the ARC port on your TV, yet there are no options to switch the input, that suggests a problem, either with the Beam, or your controller. I would reboot (power cycle) in this order: first, the TV set, then the router, the Beam, and finally the device that your controller is on. Check to see if there are any updates to your system, and the TV set, apply them as necessary.

However, if nothing changes, I’d certainly recommend that you call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

we unplugged the firecube and the issue stopped which is really annoying because i have Canadian web access on the Sony and US on the firecube.

means I have to reconnect the firecube each time I want to watch US TV

Sony aren’t very good at software. Try the crazy settings changes detailed in this thread:

wow that may have actually worked! will test it out for a few days

just switched back and forth from tv to satellite to firecube to music and back and forth a few times

Here is what the other post says (posting for my reference)

Maybe try these two suggestions, which have been mentioned in the community here in the past and see if that fixes your issue…
