I searched the forum before posting here and there are similar queries but nothing that answers my question. I have a samsung tv, 3 years old, i have a sonos arc and a sub gen 3. 3 times now in 6 months we turn the tv off at night and when we get up the next morning and turn the tv on, the hdmi-earc doesnt come on the TV speaker does. The only solution we have found is to unplug the tv and unplug the arc and start over which is a pain. So my question is why is this doing this. The first time it happened everyone said it was a bad HDMI cable so we listened and bought a new cable well it obviously isnt the issue. It is so frustrating and inconvenient to keep having this happen. I am hoping someone can give me some insight. Is it the TV is it the arc itself, what causes this issue.

There is a know bug that came up with one of the latest samsung tv firmware updates.
There are several threads about this topic and everybody hopes that samsung will come around with a fix.
In the meantime using the optical connection is the best workaround.
