Samsung TV, Beam2, PCM only?

I have a Samsung UE37D6530 TV and have just connected a Beam 2 via HDMI ARC.

However, I can only get Stereo PCM 2.0

The TV sound options are greyed out (other than PCM)

Anytime+ (HDMI CEC) is on.

Is there a way I can get something better than stereo PCM?

Am I missing something, or is it just that the TV is a bit too old?

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Have you tried connecting your Beam to the optical port on your TV via the included adaptor? The TV manual states that it can play 5.1 that way, with a supported device.

I hope this helps.

According to my research, your TV model is from 2011 which means your TV is probably just too old. You either need to get a new TV (ideally with HDMI eARC) or add a device like an HDFury Arcana that allows any external media device to bypass your TV and send audio directly to the Beam.
