So, ive seen a few comments about green flashing lights when surround speakers are turned off. Surely this could he fixed in a software update? Sometimes u don't want them on and just want to use the sound bar for regular tv, or is this me being weird? What could be the point of them, I mean I know that they are off as I have just pressed the button that says surrounds off!! Unless sonos have shares in black tape which as far as i can see is the only way to stop them!
My guess is when the surrounds are disabled, quite a few users perhaps forgot about the fact they had put them in that state and so a reminder LED was put in place to stop the calls into Sonos Customer Support. I don’t like the flashing green LED feature either, but it’s rare in my case that I disable the surrounds and prefer to use the "TV Level” slider control in the Surround audio settings in the App instead, in conjunction with Night Sound.
You could turn them off if you don’t want to see them.
I get where people are coming from, but I'm not a fan. If you've gone to the trouble of turning them off, you must know where to check and then them back on. Also I switch between music and TV a lot, and not being able to switch the surrounds easily back to a pair stereo speakers is annoying.

In that case, I do not see any significant reason why you just don’t remove the surrounds from your Soundbar and use them instead out in front for stereo music audio only? At least that way, the music soundstage is out in front, rather than behind you.
It sounds like I want too much then lol. Im not going to remove the era 100s as surrounds when they are a big part of the home theater set up with my beam and sub 3. To get exactly what I'm after I'd have to get another pair of speakers to sit there in their own group and use them in stereo for music, which is madness.

Then I’m perhaps mad - I have the Arc, Era 300s and Sub in the Living Room, but for music I use a pair of Fives and a Sub in the same room (out in front) - I just don’t personally like a music soundstage behind by listening position.
My thoughts though

Sounds an awesome set up Ken, glad I don't live next door to you, although with that setup I guess you are detached!
I love the eras as tv surrounds, I've got them more to the side than behind but they sound great with movies.
I appreciate everyone's comments, im glad i found the group. I've gone with the easiest option re green lights, masking tape it is.
Much better looking, various colors and blocking percentages to make your eyes happy.
