Remote input delay when Arc is hooked up to TV

I have a new Sony TV and Sonos Arc, and I've noticed that when the Arc is plugged in, there is a significant additional delay between the TV remote and TV. It happens with changing the volume, as well as navigating Netflix and other streaming services. Is this normal and unavoidable, or is there any way around it?

Could I remedy this situation if instead of the Sony TV’s Android TV, if I used an Apple TV or nVidia Shield?

@nombrecinq,

I assume you’re using CEC-control via Bravia Sync to control the TV - have you perhaps tried switching off CEC on your other connected HDMI devices? Maybe aso switch off infrared on the Arc to see if that may makes difference too?

I’ve seen some other Sony TV users mention these two things with some models:

Turning on IP Simple Control
Open Settings
Go to Network and Internet
Go to Home network
Go to IP control
Go to Simple IP control
Toggle On

Setting  RS232C Control to "Via Serial Port"
Open Settings
Go to Remotes and Accessories
Go to RS232C Control
Set it to "Via Serial Port"

So perhaps see if those may make a difference and solve your issue too.
