Love my Playbar and sub, have had for years.

Recently got rid of the TV and now using a long throw projector (Xgimi Horizon Pro) with my Apple TV connected to that via HDMI.

I’d like to keep the player but it is not bluetooth and I dont want to run wire across the room to the playbar under the screen.

Will connecting Sonos Port to the AppleTV or Xgimi solve this issue?

thanks.

No, the only input on the Port is a line-in which will introduce a buffering lag which will cause lip sync problems.

Realistically you are going to need to run a cable from the projector to the playbar.

You could try using a 3.5mm → stereo rca cable between the projector and the port. Then use the port to send audio to the playbar. An issue will be the delay added by the port on the line in, so the audio will be out of sync with the projector picture by the time it reaches the playbar.

thanks, I thought maybe the PORT would work and called Sonos support, they suggested a common solution is to plug in the Sonos AMP and that should work.

Well…. $699 later and 4 hours of trying  I'll be taking it back tomorrow and pretty much abandoning all Sonos products in my house.

What a sh*t show.

Just a couple of the issues I ran in to over the last 4 hours:

Playbar not  updated. - try that wait an hour - nothing. Learn you must update on S1 first (maybe) then remove and bring over to S2,  this was unsuccessful.

AMP is S2 only so must use that app. ok download that- try to connect AMP at least 7 times, from factory resets to ether net cable, go through the 10 minute set up each time and when finally it says ‘connected to system’ there is also a message that ‘Product may not show up in the system, if so just unplug and plug it back in’.  which does not fix anything and you start the whole process again.

Im reseonably competent with AV systems, or can figure it out (you tube, help forums) but wow this was a nightmare,

Sad because the Sub and playbar were not cheap and now they are useless for watching the projector without running a wire,

Going to try the Bose Ultra and see how that sounds
