I have been using the Playbar with BT box for several years. I used the BT remote to adjust volume on the Playbar

I recently bought a new Pansonic TV. The TV is connected to the BT box with an Hdmi cable; the TV is also connected to a DVD player via HDMI. the TV is connected to the Playbar with a cable

I can change channels etc with the BT remote so that is functioning fine but I cannot make any volume adjustments using the BT remote. I have tried to get the TV remote to adjust the volume of the Playbar but also with no success.

How can I adjust volume on the Playbar?

The PLAYBAR requires an IR (Infra-Red) remote signal, since CEC commands can not be generated across the optical connection. You’d orobably need to refer to the Panasonic’s manual on how to make the remote work with IR, rather than what I suspect is currently RF (Radio Frequency).

The BT box remote worked previously with the Playbar. I’m wondering how I can get it to work again. I can change channels etc on the BT box but not the volume on the Playbar.

Have you tried using the TV’s remote? (You may need to set the app to recognise it first.)

My TV remote is RF. I think that means it won’t work with the Playbar.

It’s possible, I suspect, that BT changed the programming on the remote, via a firmware update unknown to you. You may need to go back into the BT box’s settings, and reset it to be a IR remote. And then you may need to reset the Sonos PLAYBAR, depending on if they’ve changed the IR information being sent.
