Good morning all

I have I’ve recently purchased Sonos Arc, mini sub and Ikea Symfonisk (2 speakers). (I have connected all speakers in TV room setup along with surround sounds)

I have connected the Sonos Arc with Ethernet cable and others  through Home wife.

I have two WiFi routers placed side by side and I have only connected Sonos to 2.4 ghz

  1. my question is if I turn off the surround by mistake why does it take so much time to get connected to the system again? (Sonos app is also very slow in responding, I’ve to close the app numerous times and open it.)
  2. Does have having two routers create any interference?
  3. since buying the Sonos I enjoy the sound but it’s a nightmare when someone in home turns off the Sonos speakers by mistake and I cannot connect it back that easily.

I will be obliged if someone can help in addressing the problem, so that I can find where am I wrong. Thanks in advance

WiFi devices really should be 3 plus feet apart to minimise problems. Also you need to set your channels to 1, 6 and 11 so they don't conflict,

Pretty much everything you mentioned sounds like WiFi issues.

How long exactly is this “so much time”? My Symfonisk surrounds take a good few minutes to be back operational after powering off and on. This is normal as the system needs to boot, load different modules, set itself up, connect to Wi-Fi, discover the soundbar, move to the ad-hoc 5Ghz connection, etc. It does take time.

May I question how someone in your home can easily turn off the surrounds by mistake? Perhaps, you should focus on solving this before.

Thanks very Stanley,

may I know how to setup the channels 1,6 and 11 as you mentioned. I will do that accordingly.

Am trying to solve that issue with my 4 year old, the actual problem is in Sonos app the picture frame is shown as disconnected but it require at least 2 hours of time to get connected.

sometimes I leave it and tune next day morning

Why do you have two wifi routers? Might your speaker be trying to connect to the wrong wifi network?

It may also be worth setting allocated ip addresses for your devices, to eliminate possible duplicate ip address issues.

I can’t tell you how to change the WiFi channels, every router does it a bit differently. My only suggestion is to look at the user’s manual for each.
