is there a solution for combining the playbar with 2 sonos era 100 speakers? Can we synchronize 2 systems, one with the playbar and subwoofer and the other with the 2 Era 100 speakers? And the cherry on the cake, can we have them in surround?

The Era 100s cannot be used as surrounds with a Playbar. But you can group the speakers together in the Sonos app. When playing TV audio, there will be a slight delay on the Era 100s, but streaming music will be in sync.

Can you answer why this cannot be done?
Aren't they "just" an updated play 1/One SL.

Does that mean you MUST have an arc (and a sub) before they can be connected as surround?

Similar in size, yes, but completely different electronics inside. Several years between the design of the speakers, new tech in the design. Unfortunately, the now ‘ancient’ tech in the PLAYBAR is unable to keep up.

The Era 100 can also be added as a surround speaker to the Beam, not just the Playbar.

Thanks for your reply 🤗

Am thinking of upgrading to Arc and Era 100 myself...

Moderator edit is incorrect.

The Era 100 can not be added to the PLAYBAR. It can be added to the Beam, and Arc, as I wrote initially, as well as to the Ray.

From the FAQ on the sales page:

What soundbars will pair with Era 100 for surround sound?

You can connect two Era 100 speakers with ArcBeam (any generation), or Ray for surround sound. Era 100 is not compatible with Playbar or Playbase. You can also use an Era 100 pair as surround speakers when your TV is connected toAmp.

And, in reply to @Peter_254 , I’m considering a pair of Era 300s to replace my PLAY:1s….the PLAY:1s will go somewhere else in the house. ;)

Apologies - I read it as “just not the Arc” rather than “not just the Arc” as you wrote. My mistake!
