Playbar, 2x Play One setbup as stereo. new sub gen4

Got a sub gen 4 as a gift.

I have a Playbar (2018) and 2no Play ones set up as stereo set up.
sub is compatible with the One’s but not playbar. There’s nothing wrong with the playbar and don’t really want to change it.

any recommendations on how to get the sub to work with the current setup.

I’ve tried grouping already.

Go to the room with the Ones and use Add Sub. You bond the sub to speakers, not group it.

You should have bought a Sub Gen 3 😔

Compatibility

Home theater compatibility

Sub (Gen 1, 2, and 3) are compatible with all Sonos home theater speakers.
Sub 4 is compatible with all Sonos home theater speakers except Playbar and Playbase.

Product compatibility

Sub 4 is not compatible with Play:1, Play:3, Play:5 (Gen 2), Connect:Amp, SYMFONISK Bookcase (Gen 1), or SYMFONISK Table Lamp (Gen 1).
All Sub products are not compatible with Move products, Roam products, ZP80, ZP90, Connect, or Connect:Amp (Gen 1).

It was a gift and yes I’m aware of the above. Just thought if there could be a way around it via something else instead of replacing the playbar…

Yes. But as the ones are setup as a pair of surrounds to the playbar, I assume it uses the playbar as the main speaker and so can’t make it compatible.

I took your opening comment “I have a Playbar (2018) and 2no Play ones set up as stereo set up” to mean you had them set up as a stereo pair.

So to answer your question: no recommendations: it can’t be done.

I found a work around for now.. setup 2x Ones with sub as a stereo pair and then group that with playbar. I can’t control volume with tv remote for all of it and have to use Sonos app for now.
