Hello 

Since updates to my TV and Sonos System, I only get PCM 2.0. So DTS discs sound terrible.

I hope they fix this soon, any ideas?

System:

LG C1

Sonos ARC , sub and 100’s

Apple TV 4K

Panasonic UB820

 

I have tried all the different settihngs in a all combos and reset the TV and No go.

Its very annoying.

Problem started a few months ago after either a Sonos update or an LG update. Other users with LG TVs and Sonos speakers are reporting the same thing on Reddit and elsewhere. TV is on firmware version 03.40.87. The setup works fine with Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Atmos from the UB820, uncompressed 7.1 from an Xbox Series X, Dolby Digital 5.1 from a Chromecast w/ Google TV, etc.

I did find a workaround but its annoying.

 

If you plug the Ub820 directly into the Arc you will get DTS 5.1 and sounds pretty good.

 

Its obviously some incompatibilty  issue, I moslty suspect the C1

Yes it is the c1, I have a b8 which has dts support b9 to c2 had this removed I believe c3 has dts restored

 

I hope they fix it someday … seems a very odd choice for LG to make
