Shouldn’t be necessary. There’s something odd going on, but there’s just not enough information to give targeted advice. I’d start with a simple network refresh, by unplugging all Sonos devices from power, then rebooting your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to come back up before plugging back in the Sonos devices.
Or, it could be much more simple wifi interference of some type, hard to tell. The next time it happens, submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
I’m experiencing the exact same thing with the latest firmware, issue appears on Play 1 and Arc. (V15.1.1)
Turning it off and on again resolves the issues for a few hours.
That sounds more like wifi interference than not, but still not enough information to make a reliable suggestion. I’d still be submitting that diagnostic, and calling in.
