Only getting stereo PCM 2.0 with arc and two SONOS ONES

I have an older plasma tv with no hdmi arc. I am using optical and was curious if there is any way around this?

Optical can pass Dolby 5.1 if the TV will send it (and assuming the source device can send it). Check your TV specs.
