Hello,

I was a poor student that didn’t keep up with trends now with a home theatre problem.

I have a first Gen Play:1 (no longer in production) and the first Gen Ikea bookshelf. For my baby shower our bff got us a huge TV and now I’m having trouble figuring out the most economical and less wasteful way of setting up a home theatre when I purchase a playbar. bonus if it doesn’t take a lot of time.

unfortunately, Ikea has upgraded to the 2nd Gen bookshelf and it doesn’t pair with the old one.

Does anyone have any suggestion on what to do? Thanks a lot!

If you are getting a Playbar for your TV, get another used Play:1 and use the two Play:1s as surrounds with the Playbar. Then consider adding a Sub or Sub Mini to complete the 5.1 home theater setup.
