I find all this very strange. Three years ago I bought a Sony ubp-x800m2 which I connected to a Sony kd-65xh9005 TV, and further to the Sonos ARC.
I was pleasantly surprised when everything worked. DVD Audio, and the SACD discs worked perfectly. But...
After six months, an update came from Sony TV and voila...Everything gone.
I contacted Sony. They blamed Sonos. Sonos blamed Sony.
Now it has been almost three years and no one has been able to fix this. I mean, we live in 2024, we can see other galaxies via Hubble :)
How difficult should it be to answer this?
Hope one of the parties fixes this.

If nothing else, it's a nice collection of SACDs to look at.

Sorry but can you explain exactly what your issue is now?

The problem is still that no sound comes out like the Sonos system. Regular CD and Blu-ray work as they should. But not SACD. The sound comes to the TV, but not anymore... I have tried every possible tip that is around the internet.

But as you wrote, a good Rioja works :)

🤣

How are you connecting the TV to the Arc?

If you only connect the TV and Arc, is the issue the same?

To state the obvious, as it was a Sony update that broke your setup, then it's probably a setting that has changed in your TV. Have you also tried the Sony forum?

I have tried High Speed, 4K and 8K HDMI cable from TV to Sonos ARC.
I have read most things on these forums. Sat for hours and changed every parameter, on, off and auto. Tried again and again.
But now I'll wait until some genius at Sony or Sonos comes along and fix it.
Cheers!

Can you set the player to play the CD tracks on a disc and hear them?

Can you play the SACD tracks and hear them on the TV’s speakers? (Arc disconnected)

Try playing various formats and see which work, which don’t and what the Now-Playing screen shows on the format the Arc is seeing.

Somewhere along the line the setup has quit forwarding the audio so the trick is to figure out just where the ball got dropped.
