No sound from sonos playbar with LG OLED G3

Hi 

 

I have recently bought a LG OLED G3 television and have an older Sonos play bar which connects to the tv via an optical audio cable. I can’t seem to get any sound to come out of the speaker. When I open up the Sonos app it says it is not connected. However the red light is on the cable showing that it has power from the TV. 
 

i have gone though the settings on the TV to sort the radio frequency and IR issues but still have no sound. 
 

any help would be appreciated

In the audio settings, make sure you have Optical Out Device selected under the “Use Wired Speaker” setting. Also be sure you removed the caps on each end of the optical cable, and both ends of the cable have been fully inserted into the Playbar and TV.
