Hi,

We've moved and landed on what will be our placement for our TV, couch and two chairs. The TV is perpendicular to the seating, and while the couch is up against the wall the chairs are not (there is a space of about 5 feet between chairs and the wall).

We have a beam which will go beneath the TV but where to place our play:1:s for surround sound? I can't think of a great solution. The poorly drawn sketch shows where I think is the most likely. The speakers om the red X:s.

Any better solutions?

Hi @Virre85

Welcome to the Sonos Community! And, apologies for the delay.

The only improvement I can suggest would be to rotate the sofa so it faces the TV and have the Play:1s on stands behind it (or less ideal, mounted to the walls).

Assuming that you (or your better half) don’t want to do this, I can only suggest a similar setup with stands, but with the sofa where it is.

I hope this helps.

Thank you! I think the sofa will stay but I will try a few different set ups.

Thanks again!

Depending where you sit on the sofa you might get acceptable sound with both surrounds at the bottom of the couch. One near the wall and one as for forward as possible. Far from ideal but might still sound good.

For a while I had my surrounds stacked behind our chairs, but one facing 90 degrees away from the other. Surprisingly good sound but the lack of separation caused WiFi issues so we tried a different setup similar to the first suggestion I made here.

Thanks! No easy fix, but I'll try some variants. 🙃
