Hello! I set up a new Sonos Ray today. Tv Remote connected without problems, and I can control volume. But the mute button doesn’t work. Older (10 years) JVC TV. Any suggestions?

Seems odd. I’d probably try to set it up a second time, going through the process in the controller, before calling Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

Thank you for responding. I tried that, still doesn’t work unfortunately.

Then that call I suggested would be my next step.

@Liv Ellen

It sounds like there could be an issue with how the remote is communicating with the Sonos Ray. I’d recommend re-doing the setup through the Sonos app to ensure the remote is fully paired. If that doesn’t resolve it, there might be compatibility issues with the older JVC TV.

Have you tried using a different remote or checking if there's any firmware update available for the TV?

Hello @Michael01 Thank you for your reply. I have paired the Ray to both my tv remote and the remote that comes with my tv decoder, which is the remote I use for everything else, so I paired that one first. I have the same issue with both. The TV is older, the decoder is fairly new approximately 2 years. I have tried to reconnect via the Sonos app, but nothing changed. In addition it says in the instructions that an Apple TV remote should work out of the box, but my Apple TV remote doesn't work. I have had a chat with Sonos support, she couldn't help me either so I will be calling them tomorrow since it's getting late here now.
