Is there an update as to when we can expect the software release that will fully support inverted Era 300’s that are wall mounted in areas due to exceptionally high ceilings?

Sonos doesn’t provide ETAs. Probably due to the fact that until the software is ‘done’ and tested, they don’t know an ETA.

Understood though a previous response over 6 months ago from Sonos staff said it would be available soon. Even an estimated quarter would be semi helpful. 6 months later, No news - a stretch for the word soon.
I would consider this a bigger deal when formally written up that it can be inverse mounted as they do with the instructions that are with the wall mounts. Hoping their testing is active and quite thorough at this point.
I certainly don’t disagree with your desires at all. The simple fact is Sonos just has never done such a thing.
