In the Sonos “Home Theater” section of the website, Sonos sells different combinations of products, sold as “sets” for home theater setups. The “Arc” and the “Beam” soundbars have built-in voice control, so when using other Sonos speakers with voice control as rear speakers with these soundbars, the voice control is disabled on the rear speakers. For this reason, it makes no sense for Sonos to bundle the Sonos One (with voice control) with a soundbar that already has voice control, but that is what they have done…

    • The “Immersive Set with Arc” = Arc + Sub + two Sonos One speakers (whose voice control will be disabled, making them the same as two Sonos One SL speakers)
    • The “Immersive Set with Beam” = Beam + Sub + two Sonos One speakers (whose voice control will be disabled, making them the same as two Sonos One SL speakers)
    • The “Premium Home Theater Completion Set with One” = Sub + two Sonos One speakers (whose voice control will be disabled when using to complete an Arc of Beam home theater setup, making them the same as two Sonos One SL speakers)

All the other home theater sets with two rear speakers are paired with the Sonos One SL speakers (no voice control), as it seems the above 3 sets should be. Is it possible that the Sonos One speakers in the above 3 sets were supposed to be Sonos One SL speakers, and someone made a mistake (3 mistakes) when posting the sets on the website? It just doesn’t make sense to purchase a home theater set with Sonos One speakers for the rear, which will end up getting their voice control disabled, once they are in a system with the Arc or the Beam soundbar.

One other related, but strange thing, on the Sonos website… Why does the Sonos One (with voice control) sell for LESS than the Sonos One SL, which is the exact same speaker but WITHOUT voice control?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, and perhaps Sonos can take a look at these issues.

Thanks!

The One retails for $20 more than the One SL, but the One is currently on sale at a discounted price.

Good point, thanks!
