I have a Sonos one and a Sherwood Stereo receiver.  I know the only port the Sonos One has is an Ethernet port in the back.  I also know that Ethernet cable is capable of sending audio signal. I was wondering if I was to get an adapter such as an Ethernet to RCA adapter would I be able to connect the Sonos one to my stereo receiver and get audio playback? Note: the stereo receiver is connected to a record player and a TV.

No, the Sonos doesn’t work that way. You’d need to connect a Sonos Port to your stereo receiver to get the audio signal into the format played by Sonos. A direct Ethernet connection would not send music in a format the Sonos would recognize.
