Hello,

I planned to connect my projector (XGIMI Horizon Pro) to a Sonos bar and 2 satellites. The projector comes with an optical output, so I’ll probably buy a Sonos Ray or reuse my existing Playbar.

The problem is that the projector is placed on one end of the room, while the bar will be on the opposite side, and I cannot run a long optical cable from one end to the other.

Is there any solution to this?

Thank you in advance,

Davide

Hi. No, not really. Sonos isn't really designed for projectors.

A theoretical possibility would be to position an HDMI source close to the Playbar, plus an HDMI  switch / optical extractor.

Assuming your projector has an HDMI input you could use wireless HDMI to fire the picture to the projector.

I have never used wireless HDMI and I have no idea of its reliability.

John, thank you for your answer.

In case I manage to connect my projector to the Sonos bar, do you see any reason why this setup could perform poorly, eg: lag or anything?

Thanks.
