Gen one Beam HDMI cable ok with Gen 2 Beam?

I am going to hook up my Gen 2 Beam but have the existing Sonos Gen 1 HDMI cable fished through my wall. 
 

do I need the Gen 2 HDMI cable for the new connection or will my existing Gen 1 Sonos supplied HDMI cable work without losing any new Dolby features?
