It’s been a request since Sonos first released surround speakers with the original soundbar, the PLAYBAR. I wouldn’t be holding my breath, as has been explained in many, many threads, it isn’t an easy thing to do, due to the very different connection types of a regular pair of speakers versus surround speakers.
Aside from setting them to Full mode, Ambient is the default there isn't a lot you can do.
If you listen to music a lot you might move the 300s to a properly positioned stereo pair and grab two 100s for surround duty if you want that too.

Think you misunderstood my post.

Yeah, I can see that based on the threads I’ve found so far. I had figured as much. It’s truly unfortunate because this feature alone would significantly enhance the value of these speakers and make them almost perfect in my scenario. I genuinely hope Sonos finds a way to implement this.

You really brought up 2 separate, but related, issues. Stanley was addressing the desire to use surround speakers as a stereo pair without having to go through the steps to bond/unbond, trueplay, etc. As he pointed out, for most people surround sound speakers are not in a good location for stereo listening.
Your other point about enabling use of line in on surround speakers as an audio source. That does not have to include using the surrounds as a stereo pair as many users would just want the line in to feed audio to the front soundbar. Sonos address this issue slightly in that the Arc Ultra now has bluetooth input. I’m sure many would prefer a physical line in (I don’t know why this was not included) and I’m sure some still want to use the input at the surrounds.

Thanks for the clarification.
I have to get better at using the quote function when I’m on my tablet instead of the desktop. Thanks for the clarification.
