I have a Sonos Ray connected to my tv and attached to the tv on a mount to hide all wires. I’d like to get a cd player to connect to the ray so I can enjoy the sound via the Sonos Ray. What are my options that don’t include purchasing a Sonos dock which is out of my price range? Is there any way to connect to my Sonos Ray via Bluetooth and avoid messy wires up to it? or use a blue ray player that plays CD’s and somehow mount that to the TV as well to avoid messy wires coming down from the TV to a player?

The Sonos Ray doesn’t support Bluetooth.

I would get a small Blu-ray player. Blu-ray players can play audio CDs. If the Blu-ray players are too big to mount and you don’t care about watching Blu-ray discs, you can also look for a small DVD player. If your TV is equipped with analog audio in (RCA jacks), you could also connect a small CD player.

If the Port is out of your price range, an Era 100 would be the least expensive way to get audio to the Ray using a new product. It does have Bluetooth capabilities, so connecting Bluetooth capable CD player and grouping it to the Ray should work.

You can also use the line in feature on the Era 100 for a wired connection.

The least expensive way would be to get a used Connect S15 which can only be used with a CD player with line out, but you can place then anywhere in the room and group it with the Ray to listen to the audio that way.

 

I may be wrong here (I often am) but I’m not sure it is possible to connect two devices via Blutooth if nether has a display of any kind.  How would you select which device to link to?

You would use the same display you use for your Sonos controller, the setup is done from it.
