Can not connect Sub Mini to Beam Gen 2

Both untis are up to date on firmware

I have Beam Gen 2 connected to 802.11n 2.4ghz network, and it’s working fine

I have no problem adding the sub mini to my account

Problem comes when I add Sub Mini to my Beam Gen 2

right after I register the Sub MIni to my account, and before I add it to my Beam Gen 2, I can ping Sub Mini’s IP just fine

After I add Sub Mini to my Bean Gen 2, I can no longer ping Sub Mini’s IP

In the sonos S2 app, error message is

“There was a problem adding your Sub Mini.  Check the network connection and make sure your product is powered on”

Sub Mini status light is constant white

and I have reboot Sub Mini many times

Even after reboot, I still can’t ping Sub Mini’s IP address

Anyone know what’s going on?

Thanks

For AP, I am running Rukus R710

Ruckus APs are a known problem.

When you say you have the Beam connected to 2.4GHz WiFi, presumably that’s literally correct and you don’t have a wired Sonos component.

Have you tried wiring the Beam, if only as an experiment?

Do you have any surrounds bonded to the Beam?

What model is the router?

A few people are reporting problems and seems to be sorted by resetting the mini then starting again.

I tried to do wired Beam setup, but the app (android) is telling me, during setup, I am wired, and can’t connect to wireless

and then go back and ask me which product i want to change networking

BTW, I also resetted my Beam 2 a few times for experimentation as well

Unfortunately, Beam is my only sonos product now, so I have nothing else to pair the Mini Sub with

My home network is a HP mini computer running OpnSense as router

For AP, I am running Rukus R710

and my Sub Mini is connected to the R710, and R710 wired to the router

I have resetted my mini 5 or 6 times already

It’s doing the same thing everytime : drop network connection after joining the Beam 2

Indeed it’s the Ruckus

and due to my incompetence, I misconfigured my network switch so I can’t do a wired setup last night

Now that I have wired connection for Sonos Beam Gen 2, adding the Sub Mini to it is a breeze

It’s now up and running!
