Each time I change the channel on my TV, Beam loses connection to the remote and I can’t change the volume level. If I jump to the Netflix app and get back to TV, it works again until I change the channel. If I only use apps and jump to other apps this does not occur.

Something seems to be wrong on my TV source or settings. Has anyone had this issue in the past and did you find a solution? This is truly annoying!

My TV: Samsung UE65MU7000 (2017)

Are you using the TV remote or a 3rd party one?

I’m using the original TV remote

Some more questions:

  1. What connection do you have between te TV and Beam?
  2. Assuming HDMI, is CEC on the TV turned On or Off?
  3. Can you confirm that you’ve completed these steps: https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/control-sonos-home-theater-with-your-tv-remote

Thanks for getting back to me regrading the issue:

  1. Beam is connected via HDMI and yes, HDMI-CEC is On
  2. I tried setting up the remote using the app’s setup wizard but the app did not recognize the inputs. Is my remote just not “officially” compatible or any other ideas why it (sometimes) works even without this setup?

Omg, you are my hero!! Following the steps in the above article did the trick and now Beam responds to my remote even when I change channels or jump to other sources/apps!

Thanks you so much for your assistance! You saved me a lot of hassel!
