Hi all,

I recently bought a Beam (Gen 2) and think it sounds great.

However, I was watching a Blu-ray on an Xbox One S (the previous gen Xbox) and the Atmos sound is skipping or stuttering occasionally (and I can tell as the “Dolby Atmos via sound bar” label will pop up on the top right of the screen).

I tested this with Disney+ and had no issues with the Atmos sound when watching content this way. So I am assuming this is something to do with old Xbox tech, but any thoughts are appreciated.

I have this LG TV. My TV and Xbox are up-to-date. I have already unplugged everything.

Thanks.

Wait for the glitch and submit a diagnostic so Sonos Support can get a look at just what happened, we users can’t see that. You will need to contact Support to get them to look at the diagnostic.

What specific Blu-ray are you playing?

Set the TV to these settings:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through

eARC Support: On

Set the Xbox to these settings:

HDMI Audio: Dolby Atmos for home theater

Enable Allow passthrough

Thanks. I am playing Porcupine Tree’s latest concert film, Closure/Continuation.Live

I have the TV with the correct settings, but for some reason ‘Allow passthrough” wasn’t enabled in the Xbox settings.

I’ve done that, and I still get the “Dolby Atmos via sound bar” label appearing every few minutes, but no noticeable sound issues.

Hi @AMehta

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

It may be worth ensuring all your HDMI cables are securely attached, or even to reverse the cables so that each plug is fitting to a different socket - it may create better electrical connections.

But I agree with @Stanley_4 - if you submit a support diagnostic and get in touch, the logs may indicate a HDMI-CEC conflict or similar.

I hope this helps.
