Arc won't allow me to use my TV's audio

My Arc and Sub Mini are attached via HDMI-eARC to my Samsung TV (QE55Q80TATXXU).

Occasionally, when it’s late, I would like to be able to use my TV’s internal sound to avoid disturbing others in the house who have gone to bed. However, if I try to switch to it, the Arc just takes back control immediately. The only way I can avoid this happening is by powering down the Arc so it is no longer available.

Does anyone know a fix for this?
