Hi,

is it possible to use Connect or Connect/Amp to make this happen? Can Gen1 connect to Arc via the app to do this ?

There is a setting up Amp or CONNECT:AMP as surround speakers FAQ.

If you want to add a pair of passive speakers as surrounds to the Arc, you can either use the Sonos Amp or Connect:Amp (Gen 2) to power those speakers. The Connect:Amp (Gen 1) is not compatible with the Sonos S2 app.

The Connect cannot be used to power passive speakers.

thanks for the prompt replies, so it’s not possible to configure 3rd party speakers as a wireless configuration?

 

You can wire a pair of passive speakers to the Sonos Amp and the Arc will connect to the Amp wirelessly.
