Hello all,

I have an Arc connected via eARC to a LG TV, an Apple TV and have added 2 Sonos Ones as surround speakers. What I’ve noticed is that DD5.1 content (streamed) is extremely vibrant and makes fantastic use of the surround speakers, whereas Atmos content (streamed) does not by comparison, the surround speakers seem to only output musical effects, but don’t seem to be part of the soundstage. Am I missing a setting, or is this expected?

Thanks,

Ian

Dolby Atmos audio should sound just as good from the surround speakers as 5.1 audio. But it also depends on the specific source and how the soundtrack has been mixed. Some soundtracks have more active surround mixes than others.

Also be sure your TV is set to these settings:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream

Digital Sound Output: Pass Through

eARC Support: On

On the Apple TV, set the Change Format audio setting to OFF.
