I understand that the Play 1 is not supported with the Arc Ultra, however some have said they do work. Has anyone found that they actually do NOT work? Sounds like Sonos want to remove the support stream. I appreciate there could be a future issue with upgrades etc but my question is has anyone found they were unable to bond the Play 1s with the Arc Uktra?

I just replaced my Playbar with the Arc Ultra and found out the the Play1 speakers cannot be used as surrounds with the Arc Ultra šŸ˜”

Ā Iā€™d have to upgrade the play1 speakers to Era100 and get adapter plates for my Sanus stands šŸ‘Ž

Iā€™m seriously debating whether I should return the Arc Ultra and get the regular Arc soundbar instead. Iā€™ve also realized that most of the streaming services require upgraded subscription plans to playĀ Dolby Atmos shows.Ā

It would have been nice if Sonos was more transparent regarding their lack of backwards compatibility.

So did the App actually not enable you to bond the Play 1s with the Arc Ultra?

Ā This is error message I get when trying to setup surrounds for the Arc Ultra.

Thanks. In that case I think Iā€™ll stilck with my Arc (with my Play 1 surrounds & floor stands) and not upgrade to the Ultra.Ā

ā€‹@TexlesĀ The speakers that the Ultra can work with are listed in the FAQ on the Arc Ultra product page. To me that would count as transparent? What did you expect?

Some people have reported that factory resetting the play1s has allowed them to be added, expect sonos might correct this ā€œbugā€ at a later date, others have had no luckĀ

Have the play 1 as surround on my system with the Arc Ultra working fine.Ā
