Recently the sound on the Apple TV cuts out, but only music and background sounds, in movies/series. Works ok if setting the sound to Stereo on ATV. I have a set-up with ATV 4K, Arc, Sub (gen3), Amp (connected to in-ceiling Bose speakers). It’s not all shows or movies that have this issue. Netflix works ok. Appe TV+ not. How can I fix this?

It’s not clear, but when you state ‘It’s not all shows or movies that have this issue’, it makes me wonder if these shows are just in stereo, and have no ‘surround’ channel to be sent to your Amp for playing. You’d only be getting surround sound from shows that are in Dolby Digital or above, no matter what you’ve locked your Apple TV’s output to. 


Hi, it could be. I just tried to switch to another ATV, same problem. 

Seems to be a Dolby problem. I haven’t experienced it in the past.

Sorry to hear of this audio issue you’ve been having when using your Apple TV with your Arc.

Often, such issues can be resolved by unplugging your TV from power for a full minute before plugging it back in - please try this step.
