Adding two front surround speakers

I have an Arc and two Three for rear surrounds.

Plan on add a Sub later on.

I read on a non Sonos forum that it may be possible to add 2 5’s as left and right speaker at the front.

Is this correct?

No, that is incorrect.  Soundbars already contain the Left/Center/Right speakers.  Avoid any website or YouTube video that claims you can put two grouped speakers in front and get a “surround sound” experience.  Those speakers not only will be delayed by 75ms, causing an echo, they will be playing a stereo downmix of all the channels combined, meaning the rear surrounds, and Atmos channels will be coming out of the fronts, ruining any possible surround/Atmos effects.

Thank you. I was skeptical and hence why I came here to ask the experts.

Thank you but there goes my dream of two 5’s left and right

I would buy a pair of Fives although… 😉

Just to enjoy them on their own for listening to music. It’s an incredible sound experience. 😎

I’m with @Schlumpf . I have a pair of PLAY:5 gen 2s flanking one of my Arcs. I use the Arc for TV, but the PLAY:5s for music. It’s a wonderful arrangement.

The other Arc, in my bedroom, is flanked by a pair of PLAY:3s for music purposes.
