Let me start off by saying after reading all the reviews on sonos arc and bose 700, I opted for the Sonos. I don't understand how people can say the Arc is outstanding. Its not much different from a $300 sound bar. Please note my technical skills are above average. It took 3 attempts to follow simple instruction to get the Arc setup. Each time it had me unplug the power and try again. OMG. This is what you get for 8 bills. What a shame. Then the autoplay does not resort back to tv audio after playing music. People say , simply click the musical note and tap TV. Sure that works, but who carries there phone around the house with them when your over 50. Why even claim to have an autoplay function when it doesn't work. Today I had a Bose 700 sub delivered and the sound bar won't arrive for 5 more days. Lets see how Dolby Atmos, top firing speakers and an ugly to look at sound bar can compare to the Bose 700. I will; keep you posted. Please Note the top firing speakers do absolutely nothing with my 17 ft ceilings not to mention any side firing is lost in a 34 ft x16 room.
Not to mention Sonos Support is closed on the weekends. I spend 800 n tax only to have to Google answers to solve issues.
When I watch a Blu-ray with lossless Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Atmos audio playing through my Sonos Arc/Sub/Play:1s setup, it sounds pretty outstanding IMO.
Did you expect to get a good height effect from two small upfiring speakers in a room with 17 ft. ceilings?
What kind of TV is your Arc connected to?
Ted T,
To switch back to TV audio after playing music - there are several methods, but perhaps keeping it simple for you here, one of them is to press the volume up on the (paired) TV remote. HTH
Arc is mounted 4” below my Samsung 85" Class Q950TS Series QLED 8K UHD Smart Tizen TV.
I tried volume up and volume down after music playing to switch back to TV audio without positive results.
I did rename rec room to speaker and spoke to Alexa to switch speaker to Tv and that worked.
My question is, why does the autoplay function on the app even exist.

As an example, if you are listening to music and then power on the connected TV, the speaker will switchover to the TV audio. If you toggle off Autoplay, the music will remain playing.
There is also the ‘ungroup on Autoplay’ option, which will break the HT device out of any pre-existing speaker grouping (with any other Sonos Rooms) as it autoplays the TV audio.
The router will see the entire device as ‘stressed out’ due to the fact all of the devices are bridged thru the Amp. As far as the router can see, they’re all stressed.

Not sure what you mean by stressed? I run all 19 or 20 devices through my Sonos BOOST, which is wired directly to my router. There is no ‘stressed’ device.
