Hi, I have just purchased and set up a new Sonos Beam to my Samsung smart TV. I have linked the Samsung remote to the Beam and this seems to be working OK. I have also linked my two separate Sonos Ones to the Beam as surround speakers and they are also working OK, but only with the Sonos app.

However, the Samsung remote (BN59-01315B) only seems to work with the Beam and has no effect on the One’s at all which stay the same volume, irrespective of whether I increase or decrease the Beam volume?

I appreciate the Ones are primarily for a ‘surround’ effect but this means I that either I can’t hear them at all (when the Beam volume is increased), or they remain on when when the Beam volume is muted or turned down.

Is there any way to resolve this, either via the Sonos app or via reconfiguring the Samsung remote.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Gazgord.

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community!

Let me see what I can do to help you.

A home theater product using CEC does not need to perform remote control setup if CEC is working properly.

May I know where the Beam is connected to the TV, is that on HDMI-ARC or optical port?

The remote can primarily control the home theater master where the surround speakers are bonded.

May I know what’s happening when you control the volume using the Sonos app? Are you able to hear the volume change from the surround speakers?

Kindly reproduce the issue, then submit a diagnostic report through the Sonos app shortly after the issue occurs, and reply with the confirmation number. I'd start by reviewing your system as well as the status of the devices, it will help in identifying what's possibly causing the issue.

Let me know how that goes.

Do you have the Ones set as a stereo pair and grouped to the Beam, or bonded as surrounds? If you’re not sure, look at the room in Settings / System. Does it show Lounge (+LS +RS) ? If not, you’ve not set them up as surrounds.

Hi nik9669a

Many thanks for your reply. This may be my problem because the two Ones are only showing under Products as Kitchen (L+R) and not +LS +RS. However, after searching for ages how to set up ‘Bonding’ I cant find anything that explains how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
