Hi,
just happily bought my sonos amp for my tv living room. My LE40D503F7W samsung tv doesn't have hdmi arc port, so how to i connect the amp to this? Attached a picture to see what is available, what kind of converter would i need if possible?
Would like to avoid also having to get a new tv :)
Chromecast that is connected now.

There are many threads about this type of situation. The best option appears to be an HDMI switch between your sources and the TV, so you can pull the audio out before it reaches the TV. In your case, you may also need to pick up the optical to HDMI-ARC adapter that Sonos sells separately.
I have seen the HDMI-ARC adapter that sonos sells, but i have no optical input on the tv. Which kind of HDMI switch should i look for? I have no experience in this field.
Take a few minutes to read through the threads in this area of the forum. I’ve got no particular suggestions, I don’t use this myself.
Many of these HDMI switches pull the audio out on an optical output.

So, maybe this one, then HDMI 1 to HDMI 1, and then Output to the Sonos AMP, is that something like that that could might work?

You could use the tv analog out to amp analog input to get started without any adapters.

But would that compromise the sound quality?

IMO any way you try to work around this is going to be a compromise whether sound or ease of use. You could potentially have sound issues (or maybe not) but not having to deal with a converter might be worth it. Ymmv

Tried it, doesn't go any sound through from the tv to the amp
Yes, I'd think that adapter would work fine. Since you're dealing with a digital signal on all sides (electric and optical), there would be no degradation of audio quality.

Ended up working with a setting in the app. Thanks !
