Surround sound with Sonos One and PLAYBASE
Can I create surround sound set up with the playbase and two sonos one's but no sub woofer?

If 'playable' is PLAYBAR, then yes. The SUB is not required.

I had that setup for about a year before I could afford to purchase the SUB. Worked incredibly well, I was quite pleased.
Then was blown away when I added the SUB. Make sure you put that on your "to do" list for later 🙂
