Surround Setup Error with Beam

I can’t connect 2 Sonos one speakers as surrounds to my beam. I keep getting an error. I’m able to pair the speakers together and group it with the beam but I can’t add them as surrounds through the app process.

What error are you getting exactly?

I add the left and right speaker and then it goes to “Setup Problem. Please check your network connection or the power on the speakers in the room”

Weird. Get a diagnostic code and post it here for Sonos support.

Just as a check, you haven’t turned off the radio on your Beam, have you?

I don’t think so. How do you check or how do you turn it off?

If the system is in "wireless" mode (using the existing WiFi) it sounds like a potential interaction problem with the router's DHCP server. What make/model of router is it?

They are connected to the following.

router: Xfinity XB6T
switch: Ruckus ICX7150-C12P

Sorry, is the Beam -- or another Sonos device -- wired to the network?

It’s wirelessly connected to network. All of my Sonos speakers are wirelessly connected

I seem to recall another thread with an issue with a Ruckus router. Ah, here:

https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/multicast-preventing-sonos-from-working-6810434

There's also an FAQ on the Ruckus website:

https://support.ruckuswireless.com/articles/000006140

Now I need to go figure out who in the world Ruckus is, having never heard of them as a company.

I connected Ethernet cable to the Beam and then I was able to connect the surround speakers.
