Hi

I have recently invested in an Arc, Sub, two 5’s & 2 one’s and looking to set up with the 2x 5’s and Arc forward facing under/next to LG C1 OLED TV and use the 2 ones as rears.

The room is 7 x 5 mtrs and has 5m gable ceilings and I will be viewing TV from about 5 metres.

I will also be using Apple play, PLEX via a MacMini and Sonos eco systems for audio/video.

My question is have I over done it with the fives and the ARC simultaneously pushing out Dolby/Dolby Atmos?...or will they blow my windows out?...or it it not possible to achieve this setup?

Thanks Scotty

Hi. It is not possible to achieve that set up.  The Arc handles front left, right and centre and includes side-firing and upwards-firing speakers.  You could group the Fives at the front with the Arc but for TV sound this would not sync perfectly, the Fives would only play stereo, and I suspect it would spoil the sound from the Arc rather than enhance it.

HI John,

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated - after doing some more reading I suspected that this may be the case as I was worried about syncing.  I guess the other option is to dedicate the fives for audio only (say apple & sonos music), - just need to work out how to do it….or sell the fives?

The Ones do a good job as surrounds. The Fives sound great as a stereo pair for music. So what you are considering doing would certainly give you a good setup.

To use the Five's for music set them up as a separate "room” in Sonos.
