First, I’m having the same issue as several others including ‘uclamba2001’, which is super frustrating.  You can’t reply to those posts, so I have to create a brand new one.

My Beam stopped playing TV sound after working fine for well over a year.  I tried all the possible steps including restarts, resets, (3) different HDMI cables (yes, incl. brand new), etc.

The HDMI Arc shows the Sonos imagery on screen (so yes, the connection is there), but doesn’t play sound through the TV.  I can play music through the app (so yes, the speaker works), but not via TV so my entire home theater system is essentially defunct based on the Beam’s failure.

I didn’t plan on trashing a $1,400 investment, but it seems like I’m out of options.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Hi. This is my first post on here. I have a beam and a Samsung tv as well. I’m on here to learning and nowhere near an expert on problem solving. I bought my beam June 2019 and didn’t experience an issue like this for about a year. One day I woke up and my sound was coming out through my tv. AirPlay music was still working. Solution was to unplug both my tv and beam’s power cord for 10 mins. Then afterwards everything worked fine.

@TxShadow has it right.  The likely problem is that your TV stopped sending audio to the Beam for whatever reason.  Unplugging the TV will cause the TV to do a hard reboot, and likely get it working again.  10 minutes won’t be necessary though, 30 seconds should be enough.

I’m fairly conservative, I tend to go with somewhere between 3 and 5 minutes, but I really think that depends on the device, not sure there’s an effective “generic” time between different brands of TV sets, or even different models from the same manufacturer, since they do seem to have different electronic bits inside of them fairly frequently.
