setting up surround sound

I own a Sonos arc and sub 3, I’ve rebooted them because my sub was not connecting with the arc. Now I got both on the same WiFi, however, while trying to set up surround sound, it’s staying that “I need 2 compatible speakers to make surround sound. Make sure your products are powered on and connected to WiFi.”

I’ve googled, searched YouTube and can’t find any resolution to my issue. Hope someone is able to help.

thank you

You want to choose "Add a sub" to the Arc, not surrounds.  Adding surrounds requires two surround speakers or an Amp.

Your profile doesn’t list the Sonos speakers you are trying to set up as Surrounds, which Sonos speakers (they must be a matched set) are you trying to connect to your Arc?

@jgatie Ah! I get it now. Thank you. My sub is connected with my arc.

@Stanley_4 I did connect my sub to my arc. Thank you. The previous response totally made sense to me, it’s been a few years since I’ve installed them so things could have changed in the app. Thank you.
