ray wont recognise hitachi remote

Hi all,

I can’t seem to get my Ray via the app to recognise my Hitachi TV remote so that I can adjust the volume (the remote still only adjusts TV speaker volume). 
When setting up (volume up x3) the Ray flashes, but the app says it can’t detect a remote and I can’t find a set up/ help guide to fix the issue.

I’d appreciate any ideas! I’m using the hitachi TV alongside an Apple TV. Thank you so much.

The Ray requires an IR signal to work. If the Hitachi remote uses some other format (Bluetooth or WiFi) it won’t be recognized. 

There should be some way in the settings of the Hitachi to force the remote to use IR, once you’ve done so, just run the remote learning process in the ‘room’ for the Ray in the Sonos controller.
